Domestic flights can be a convenient and inexpensive way to get around in Ecuador. Domestic flights can save you from long bus rides, and are often worth the extra dollars, especially when your travel timeline is limited.
Ecuador's domestic airports are located Quito and Guayaquil, as well as on Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal in the Galápagos Islands. Other destinations with domestic flights include Cuenca, Manta, Loja, Esmeraldas, Portoviejo, Macas, Machala, Coca, and Tulcán.
If possible, book your domestic flights well in advance, as seats can fill up fast. Some flights - such as those to the Galápagos and the Amazon - are more expensive for foreigners than for Ecuadorians.
