Guatemala City is the capital of Guatemala—as such, it’s the biggest and most metropolitan place in the entire country. The city can feel busy and chaotic at times, and travelers are unlikely to stay here for more than a few days. Even so, there are some fun things to do in Guatemala City. Zona Viva has a nice range of bars, restaurants, and shops, and there are some interesting cultural sites in Centro Histórico.
The Radisson offers travelers a comfortable, amenity-rich experience in Zona Viva. Its modern, welcoming environment is especially nice after (or before) a long flight.
With 130 spacious and generously appointed suites, the Radisson is well suited for all types of travelers. Each of the suites has been carefully designed to be as comfortable and attractive as possible. They have modern, Guatemala-inspired décor, a flat screen cable TV, and complimentary wireless Internet. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in a nice amount of natural light, and air conditioning keeps the rooms cool and comfortable.
A coffee maker allows you to brew coffee first thing in the morning, and there is a mini-bar should you feel like relaxing with a drink at night. All suites also have a private hot water bathroom, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, desk, and safety deposit box. Some suites are larger and include a living room with a sofa bed, chairs, and breakfast table.
The Radisson has two restaurants, El Huerto and Eat & Drink. El Huerto specializes in mouthwatering international and local cuisine, and offers extensive buffet and à la carte options. Eat & Drink is a casual, evening-only dining option that serves innovative dishes blending Asian and European culinary styles. There is a nightly happy hour here from 5 to 8 PM.
Guests can relax in the hotel’s large Jacuzzi, which is set on top of a terrace and has great views of Guatemala City. Love traveling but hate missing your exercise routine? That’s not a problem at the Radisson. The hotel’s gym is nice and features a range of cardio and weight machines. And if you’re traveling on business, you can pop into the business center to use a computer, get online or print documents.
The Radisson knows that travel can be stressful, which is why they offer amenities like a complimentary airport shuttle and 3-hour express laundry service.
Hotel was great and the breakfast was fantastic. The only negative was that the key cards for the rooms kept demagnetizing and we had to keep going back to the front desk to get them to reprogram the keys. This was the same for all the people in our party and other guests in the hotel. They may need a new machine.
Amazing staff, my room was huge and newly renovated. The breakfast, spa and rooftop jaccuzzi exceeded my expectations!
