Camino Real Antigua

La Antigua is a charming city situated 28 miles (45 km) west of Guatemala City. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, Antigua is one of Guatemala’s most popular destinations. This city was once the capital of Guatemala, and today it is a great place to see historic buildings and colonial architecture. Highlights include churches, parks, and museums, many of which are fairly close together. Outside the city, there are volcanoes to hike up (Agua and Acatenango) and trails to bike along.

The Camino Real Antigua is a pleasant hotel set in a beautiful part of town. Its rooms are spacious and spotless, and the hotel’s layout is lovely—think colonial courtyards, tropical gardens, and exposed stone walls.

Guests can relax in the hotel’s large Jacuzzi, which is set outdoors in a courtyard. Soaking in the warm waters of the Jacuzzi is a great way to unwind after a day spent exploring Antigua.
