The Camino Real Antigua is located near the center of La Antigua. This hotel has comfortable accommodations and a pleasant colonial feel.
La Antigua is a charming city situated 28 miles (45 km) west of Guatemala City. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, Antigua is one of Guatemala’s most popular destinations. This city was once the capital of Guatemala, and today it is a great place to see historic buildings and colonial architecture. Highlights include churches, parks, and museums, many of which are fairly close together. Outside the city, there are volcanoes to hike up (Agua and Acatenango) and trails to bike along.
The Camino Real Antigua is a pleasant hotel set in a beautiful part of town. Its rooms are spacious and spotless, and the hotel’s layout is lovely—think colonial courtyards, tropical gardens, and exposed stone walls.
The accommodations here are well presented and comfortable. Hardwood floors stretch from wall to wall beneath high ceilings. The beds are big and have hypoallergenic bedding and down comforters. All rooms feature a private hot water bathroom and air conditioning. Coffee/tea makers are on hand, as is a mini bar that’s stocked with snacks and liquors. Some suites have living rooms, king-size beds, and multiple bathrooms.
The hotel’s restaurant, Las Velas, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a wood burning fireplace and candle-lit dinners, the environment here is pleasant. You can enjoy a wide variety of international cuisine, and serve yourself from a buffet breakfast some mornings. Drinks can be enjoyed at Bar Las Cañas, which is well stocked with beer, wine, and liquor. This is a perfect place to end your day or host a relaxed business meeting.
Guests can relax in the hotel’s large Jacuzzi, which is set outdoors in a courtyard. Soaking in the warm waters of the Jacuzzi is a great way to unwind after a day spent exploring Antigua.
Camino Real Antigua also has a fully equipped fitness center, which will allow you to keep up with exercise routines, as well as an onsite spa. The spa offers all kinds of relaxing services, including reflexology, shiatsu, massage, aromatherapy, and avocado facial therapy.
This hotel also has four meeting rooms that guests can rent. The rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art AV equipment and can hold up to 275 people. Other hotel services include a currency exchange, wireless Internet access, room service, and a business center.
