What Are Vietnam's Border Crossings Like?

Vietnam's border crossings are quite strict. Make absolutely sure you have the correct paperwork, including a passport that is valid for at least 6 months past the date of your trip, and a tourist visa. Always make sure that you check your entry stamp and that it shows the length of your stay. Remember that you can only re-enter Vietnam on the same visa if you have a multi-entry visa.

Vietnam has more than a dozen international border crossings. You can cross into Cambodia at 5 locations, Laos at 6 locations, and into China at 2 locations.
