The tour begins with a 20-minute boat ride to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. This reserve is a habitat for a huge variety of tropical fish, as well as sharks, rays, barracudas, and sea turtles. Your boat captain will drop anchor for 15 to 20 minutes to admire the marine wildlife swimming beneath the boat. If you have your swimsuit with you, take a dip to do some snorkeling. This will allow you to get a close look at the coral reef.
Next up, you’ll drop anchor in Shark Ray Alley. Friendly sharks will circle the boat, looking for a treat. If you’re feeling daring, you can snorkel here as well, although it’s important not to try to touch any of the animals.
