Jaguar Reef Lodge is located right on the beach, just a few miles south of Hopkins Village. All of the accommodations at this lodge put you right next to Belize’s main attraction – the Caribbean Sea.
Hopkins Village is a rural beach town with a lovely selection of beachside bars and cafes. Staying on the coast you can easily arrange to take a boat tour of nearby aquatic attractions. Belize is one of the top snorkeling and scuba diving destinations in the world, due mainly to the Belize Barrier Reef. There are smaller reefs and atolls all along Belize’s coast. You’ll have the chance to see sea turtles, manatees, and dolphins. Jaguar Reef Lodge can provide guests with complimentary bicycles, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and fishing equipment. You can fill up your day just by exploring the grounds of the lodge, which bloom with tropical vegetation and serve as a habitat to tropical birds.
Jaguar Reef Lodge is an environmentally conscious hotel, and makes a concerted effort to recycle and reduce waste wherever possible. Daily housekeeping services keep your accommodations feeling as inviting as the day you arrived. Your accommodations will also come with beach towels, so you don’t have to worry about running out during your stay.
When you stay here you will have the choice of staying in a cabana or a suite. All of the accommodations at the lodge have free Wi-Fi. You’ll also get to enjoy air conditioning, and use the in-room safety deposit box for valuables. No matter where you stay, you’ll have a view of the ocean. Refill your water bottles using the purified water dispenser that you’ll find in your guest room.
Each suite has a large living area as well as a kitchen, and each suite covers a total of 1,000 square feet (92 sq m). The kitchen comes equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Private bathrooms also provide hair dryers. Vaulted ceilings make the space feel elegant, and the superb view off the balcony will add to the luxuriousness of your vacation suite. When you want some downtime, head to the living room and spend some time with the TV, DVD player, or the stereo.
In a cabana, tile floors and ceiling fans will make your space feel like a cool oasis. There is a radio with an iPod input so you can blast your favorite vacation playlist. For more entertainment you can turn on the 26-inch flat-screen cable TV. To get the most out of your view, unwind in the hammock on the balcony.
At the Jaguar Reef Restaurant you can visit the resort’s full-service bar for wine, liquor, and cold local beer. Check out the poolside bar if you’d like to sip a tropical cocktail in the sunshine. The poolside bar also serves snacks. There are two beachfront pools at the lodge, as well as a whirlpool that overlooks the ocean. One of the pools is a heated infinity pool with a swim-up bar. The other pool caters to children.
Help yourself to a continental breakfast or make a selection from the hot breakfast menu. You’ll get to eat your meals on the restaurant’s open-air patio. The restaurant makes an effort to serve local food, including organic ingredients from local farms, and lots of fresh seafood.
At the lodge’s Butterfly Spa you can choose a pampering experience from a long list of skin and beauty treatments, as well as massages. They offer couple’s massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, and aromatherapy message, just to name a few. You can even opt to have a massage on the lodge’s dock, in the warm Belizean sunshine.
