We begin the day with a scenic ascent on the famous Quito Cable Car, rising from the city at 2,850 meters (9,350 ft) to over 4,000 meters (13,120 ft) above sea level in just minutes. As the cabins glide upward, Quito slowly unfolds below, framed by dramatic Andean peaks and expansive valleys. Upon arrival, we begin our hike toward the summit of Rucu Pichincha. The trail gradually climbs through high-altitude páramo terrain, offering sweeping views of Quito’s historic center, the Avenue of the Volcanoes, and on clear days, snowcapped giants such as Cotopaxi and Cayambe. This hike is both physically rewarding and spiritually uplifting. The silence of the mountains, the vast open landscapes, and the feeling of standing above the capital of Ecuador create a truly memorable experience. After reaching the summit and enjoying time for photos and rest, we descend back to the cable car station and return to your hotel. The afternoon is free to relax or explore the city at your own pace.
