Mashpi Amagusa Lodge is a small, family-run eco-lodge and private nature reserve in Ecuador’s Chocó-Andino Biosphere. Surrounded by cloud forest, it offers travelers a comfortable base for birdwatching, hiking, and discovering the remarkable biodiversity of this region.
Mashpi Amagusa Lodge is located within a private reserve in the cloud forests of northwestern Ecuador, about 45 minutes from Pacto. The reserve is part of the Mashpi-Pachijal Important Bird Area and is particularly known for its birdlife, making it a good choice for birdwatchers, photographers, and travelers interested in nature.
The lodge has eight rooms with private bathrooms, including King rooms and Double rooms with two Queen beds. Guests also have access to a large covered balcony overlooking the surrounding forest and gardens, as well as an open-air dining area.
Stays at the lodge include meals and guided activities, with experiences focused on birdwatching, bird photography, hiking, and general nature exploration. Around the property, guests can visit hummingbird and tanager viewing areas, walk forest trails, use observation decks, and explore the reserve’s natural surroundings.
