Guatemala City is the capital of Guatemala. The La Aurora International Airport (the main international airport serving Guatemala) is located just outside the city, so chances are high that you’ll be in the city for at least a day or two. While it’s certainly not the top destination in Guatemala, Guatemala City nonetheless has some pleasant features. There are several historical sites to visit, and a range of nice restaurants, bars, and shops to sample.

The Holiday Inn in Guatemala City is a clean and reliable hotel. It has modern rooms and a nice offering of amenities, including a free airport shuttle and buffet breakfast.

The rooms are spacious and equipped with nice amenities. All have air conditioning and a flat screen TV, as well as a safety deposit box, iron/ironing board, and a coffee maker. The beds are firm and comfy, and there are armchairs where you can read or relax. The bathrooms feature hot water showers, toiletries, a hair dryer, and telephone. Guests can choose rooms with volcano or city views.

If you’re planning on staying for a few days you might be interested in the hotel’s suites, which come equipped with kitchenettes and sitting areas. There are also executive rooms that provide guests with more privacy and extra amenities. The top two floors of the hotel are composed entirely of executive rooms. Each floor has its own Internet business center and complimentary printing. As such, executive rooms are ideal for business travelers.

There is a heated outdoor swimming pool where you can cool off or get some sun. If you’re feeling like exercising, head to the hotel’s gym, which is stocked with a range of cardio equipment and weight machines. Computers are available in the hotel’s business center.

A buffet breakfast is offered every morning on the second floor of the hotel. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the onsite Los Comensales restaurant, which is open from 6:00 AM until 11:00 PM and offers both national and international cuisine. There is a cozy bar in the lobby that serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks—this is a good place to watch sports or simply relax with a drink.

Events can be held at the Holiday Inn. There are seven meeting rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. These can hold between 10 and 250 guests.

The Holiday Inn runs a complimentary airport shuttle to and from the La Aurora International Airport, making the travel process that much easier. Other hotel amenities include money exchange, laundry service, and a gift shop.
