Bangkok fly to Chaing Mai, City Temples & Monk Chat at Wat Suan Dok

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you'll be picked up and transferred to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the Chiang Mai airport and take you to your hotel. 13:00 – Temple Tour & Monk Chat at Wat Suan Dok This fascinating afternoon tour offers a deep dive into Chiang Mai’s rich heritage. You’ll explore the city's highlights, including ancient temples, historic city walls, gates, moats, and a bustling local market. The journey begins at Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple in the city, renowned for its chedi supported by elephant-shaped buttresses. Next, visit Wat Phra Singh, home to the exquisite Lai Kham Chapel with its intricate woodcarvings and traditional northern-style murals. Continue to Wat Chedi Luang, where you’ll see the towering pagoda that was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. Your final stop is Wat Suan Dok, a 14th-century temple that once served as a royal garden and now houses several striking white chedis containing the ashes of former Chiang Mai royalty. The temple is also home to one of the most prominent monk schools in the region. Here, you'll have the unique opportunity to participate in a Monk Chat—an informal, friendly conversation with young novice monks (often accompanied by their teacher). These discussions not only provide insight into Buddhist life but also help the young monks practice their English skills. It’s a meaningful cultural exchange and a truly memorable experience.
