Early in the morning, meet your guide and driver at your hotel in Hanoi. You will travel together 3.5 hours through agricultural land and over epic mountain passes to the Mai Chau Valley. You’ll head straight into the home of a local Thai family for a traditional feast of local specialities.
After lunch, your hosts will show you around their village on foot, and you’ll visit some of the local weavers to watch them crafting their signature textiles. Purchasing their textiles ensures you’ll have an authentic souvenir. In the evening, you’ll likely have the opportunity to witness a performance by community members, involving song, dance, theatricals, and a few stunts!
Following breakfast the next day, you’ll hop on a bicycle for a tour of the picturesque landscape. Cycle between vibrant rice paddies and through villages of charming stilt houses as you learn a little more about the ethnic Thai population and their lives in the valley. Enjoy another local lunch and then make the journey back to Hanoi where you’ll arrive by early evening.
