Montañita is best known for its surfing. Waves here are easy to surf, even for beginners, so sign up for lessons during your stay. If long walks on the beach, swimming, surfing, snorkeling and fishing don’t leave you beat, Montañita Estates has a fitness room, a yoga studio, and a kid’s play area. From the hotel it’s a quick walk to the beach, and an even quicker walk to bars and restaurants in the town.

From your room you’ll be able to see the ocean and surrounding town of Montañita. Rooms here have contrasting textures that make the space feel rugged, yet polished. Cool, clean interiors are a welcome change of pace from the colorful outdoors. If you reserve a suite, your accommodations will also come with a living room and a kitchen. All of the rooms here have air conditioning. While you’re hanging out in your room, you can keep yourself entertained with the 42” DirecTV and the high-speed Wi-Fi.

Each room comes with a full bathroom, which is equipped with a shower. Bathrooms are stocked with Montñita Estates’ own line of bath amenities. There is a daily maid service, and a laundry service is available.

The hotel’s Cade Vida wine bar and restaurant is designed with wood and stone, set up to make you feel like you’ve just stumbled into a wine bar in the middle of the jungle. There is a hammock to one side, ample seating, and a sizable selection of drink specials. Cade Vida also serves beer from a local microbrewery. Food here is a mix of tropical fare and sumptuous Latin American classics. There’s always a good selection of specials, including vegetarian, meat, and seafood options.

While you’re staying at Montañita Estates, you’ll get to take advantage of not one, but two outdoor pools. One of the pools has multiple levels, with a manmade waterfall that cascades into the lower level. Both pools have their own Jacuzzi.
