It was a great family vacation with our teenage son –– exploring the beauty of Ecuador and spending New Year's there too! We planned last minute but Anywhere saved the day!
A request for adventure...
My family decided to visit Ecuador for a winter family trip over Christmas to New Year's. We're so happy we had assistance from Anywhere.com to sort out all of the logistics and help us plan a well-rounded trip that we could enjoy at our own pace. We’re an adventurous family and were really looking forward to meeting locals and experiencing Ecuador's culture.
The highlights of the Galapagos Islands...
We started at the Galapagos and stayed on San Cristobal for the duration of the time there. It's a great base to hop on to Espanola Island for a day trip. My son really enjoyed the boat ride on the Leon Dormido Island tour. We saw so many sea lions swimming out in the water!
Anywhere saves the day with our last-minute plans...
Our last leg of the trip was in Baños. Cesar was such a gracious host and even invited us to join his family to celebrate Año Viejo. Planning a trip for this time of the year can be stressful, especially since we decided on this trip at the last minute, but I’m glad Anywhere was able to sort us out with an affordable and worthwhile trip to this beautiful country!

Quito

Founded in the 16th century atop the ruins of an Inca city, Quito is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a premier destination for those visiting Ecuador.
San Cristóbal
San Cristóbal is the fifth largest island in the Galápagos. This islands offers easy access to snorkeling and beach sites, and is also home to some of the best surfing in the Galápagos. Geologically, San Cristóbal is one of the oldest islands in the Galápagos. The main town here is Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
Baños
Set at the base of the looming Tungurahua Volcano, the peaceful town of Baños gets its name from the many thermal spas that are scattered around the area. It’s an outdoor adventure hub as well, with whitewater rafting, hiking and mountain biking opportunities nearby.
