Espanola Island Tour
Located two hours from San Cristóbal, Española is the southernmost island and one of the oldest in the Galápagos archipelago. The island's flat profile is extremely dry with only a few inches of rain per year. Despite the dry climate the island is one of the world's only known nesting sites for the Waved Albatross.

From April to December this island is covered with these adorably clumsy birds. Blue-Footed and Nazca Boobies as well as many other bird species. Another unique species found only on Española Island is the Green and Red Marine Iguana. Quite often you will be greeted by these colorful reptiles. A visit to Gardner Bay for some open water snorkeling completes this island visit.
Location & Geography: Española Island is located two hours southwest from the port of San Cristóbal. It is the southernmost island in the Galápagos archipeligo and at over 4 millions years, one of the oldest. The island has a very flat profile which receives less than three inches of rain per year. Because the island is so old, it has a number of sandy beaches and coves that are ideal for Sea Lions.
Terrestrial Wildlife: Galapagos (Waved) Albatross, Blue Footed Boobies, Nasca Boobies, Red Billed Tropicbirds, Galapagos Hawks, Sally Light-foot Crabs.
Marine Wildlife: Sea Turtles, Sea Lions, Green and Red Marine Iguanas, Hammerhead Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, Rays, Pelagic Fish and Reef Fish

Similar things to do
During the boat trip you can enjoy the beautiful landscape and you may see dolphins. Upon arrival at León Dormido we will navigate around the island to see the sea birds and sea lions, resting on the rocks. If you wish, you can snorkel — there is a good chance you will see the Galapagos shark, sea turtles, different types of rays, and a variety of fish. After that, you have some free time to enjoy the beach at Playa Ochoa, Cerro el Brujo or Playa Manglecito. Return to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
This all-day tour takes you to some of the highlights of San Cristobál’s landscape. Your tour begins with an early morning boat ride and lasts into the evening. This is a part of the Galápagos that you need a guide in order to see, and the views that you’ll get along the way are well worth the hiking. You’ll also get the chance to stop and snorkel around the beautiful bay and have lunch on board the boat.
Isla Lobos is a small islet located approximate 40 minutes from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Is it home to various Galapagos birds, such as Blue-Footed Boobies, Nazca Boobies, and Frigate Birds, as well as a colony of Sea Lions and numerous Marine Iguanas. On this half-day trip you will disembark on the islet for an hour long interpreted walk around the island. Afterwards you will be able to snorkel in the protected bay nearby. Following a lunch onboard you will relocate to Ochoa Beach where you can wander the sand, snorkel some more or relax in the sun.
