Day 8 Bangkok - Best of Bangkok tour Note: Ladies should wear short-sleeved top with full-length trousers or knee-length skirts. Gentlemen should wear trousers and short-sleeved shirts for religious reasons. Sandals or flip-flop are allowed.

Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. and drive to Royal Grand Palace - the most important and impressive royal palace in Thailand. Find out what the palace is used for and do not miss the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. Continue to Wat Po - One of the oldest temples in Bangkok, Wat Po is home to the famous 45m reclining Buddha; it is also the original school of traditional Thai massage.

Then walk a few steps to local pier for boarding an engine powered long-tail boat to make your way along the fascinating Chao Phraya River, also referred to as the “River of Kings.” Enjoy an up-close look at the homes, temples, and daily activities along the river. Continue past the Temple of Dawn, locally knows as Wat Arun, built in the late 1700’s and one of Bangkok’s best-known landmarks.

Return to your hotel around 01:00 p.m. EVENING BANGKOK STREET FOOD AT CHINA TOWN: you will be escorted by your guide to enjoy evening food tour, one way by car and return by Tuk Tuk (06:30pm – 10:30pm). Drinks during street food tour & during dinner included.

Food stalls on the streets of Bangkok can look a little intimidating to foreigners, but they provide convenient, delicious and cheap meals to the locals. Wherever you go in the city, these food stalls are plentiful and very often you will find a high concentration of them in particularly busy areas. Some street vendors operate in groups, often in local markets, which mean you can go to the same place every night and have a different choice of meal. Some even open around the clock. The main attractions usually include a noodles stall, a made-to-order food stall, and 'curry on rice' stall. Knowing what's what is essential when eating from food stalls. You should be able to figure out what kind of food a particular stall is selling by observing the ingredients in the glass display window and the way they're being prepared. There are many kinds of noodle stalls available; chicken noodles, duck noodles, egg noodles with wonton and 'moo daeng' (red barbequed pork), beef and meat ball noodles, 'yen ta four' (noodles in red soy bean paste with fish ball, squid and morning glory) - the list is endless. The noodles themselves come in different sizes and shapes too.

After dinner, you will be transferred by Tuk Tuk back to your hotel for relaxation. You will be back at the hotel around 10:30 pm.

Day 9 Bangkok Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 7:00 a.m. and drive 1.5-hour to visit the Railway Track Market in Samut Songkram. This is a unique experience as you will see the vendors quickly pack up their stores as the train approaches the tracks.

Then continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, stepping back in time to experience the traditional way farmers would trade their produce. The canals are lined with boats that are paddled by local women and piled high with vegetables, fruit and even souvenirs for the tourists. Sit back and soak up the atmosphere as the locals go about their daily life and entertain us with their haggling techniques. Then transfer back to Bangkok. Lunch will be served at a simply local restaurant (own account/pay on site).

Return to hotel around 02.00 p.m. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Morning at leisure. All rooms check out no later than 08:00 a.m. Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and drive 45 minutes to Bangkok Airport for flight to Chiang Mai.

Upon arrival at Chiang Mai Airport. After retrieving your luggage, please proceed to Arrival Hall where our English-speaking guide is waiting for you and holding a sign with your group name on it. Embark the comfortable vehicle for transferring to local restaurant.

Enjoy a lunch of Khao Soi (with drinks) - a Chiang Mai specialty of rice noodles and curried gravy with chicken or pork. Khao Soi is a curry noodle dish from the northern part of Thailand. It is often made with chicken, served over Chinese Bah-mi egg noodle, and garnished with fried noodles, shallots, cilantro, pickled mustard greens, fried whole chilies and a squeeze of lime juice. The dish is a seeming cacophony of taste, each strong and distinct yet they blend into one beautifully harmonious bowl and delicious bowl, when done right, of course. Afterwards, you will be transferred to Doi Su Thep to visit the most secret temple of Chiang Mai. Located only 15km out of Chiang Mai, Wat Phrathat on Doi Suthep Mountain is an easy outing offering a serene experience amidst the mountains surrounding Thailand’s second city. The site is sacred to the Thai people and therefore appropriate clothing is recommended. The Wat was founded in 1383 A.D. and in 1935 the first road was built to the top, though nowadays people may climb the 309 steps from the car park to the top or take a tram. Once you are within the temple compounds you can see pagodas, statues, bells and shrines. The climb up is also rewarded with a superb panoramic view over the city.

Continue to visit to one of the local Meo hill tribe villages. The Meo still wear traditional costume and live a lifestyle unchanged in centuries. Your guide can function as a translator if you wish to talk to the local people.
