07:15-07:45 A.M.
Pick up from your hotel or private address to depart for Ninh Binh.
10:00 A.M.
Upon arrival, you’ll visit a local family in the Tam Coc area. Three generations share this home, as is typical; your gracious hosts will allow you to admire their traditional home’s architecture, introduce you to daily life, and teach you about their handicraft career of traditional embroidery.
10:30 A.M.
After bidding the family farewell and thanking them once more for their hospitality, it’s time to begin your bicycle excursion. During this ride, you’ll take a unique route which will allow you to (carefully) explore the region’s rice fields and limestone mountains.
12:00 P.M.
You’ll have the privilege of returning to the local family to share a special lunch with them, featuring local dishes which showcase the Asian culture’s belief in yin-yang balance. After your meal, you’ll enjoy a bit of time to relax with a cup of tea before continuing to explore Ninh Binh.
13:30 P.M.
Time to switch modes of transportation! Go from bicycle to boat as you make your way through Tam Coc (the Halong Bay on land) in a small rowboat powered by a local. This journey requires a fair amount of stamina on oarsman’s part, as you’ll be gliding along the river for approximately 90-minutes. You’ll see limestone mountains, and perhaps a rice paddy or two if it’s harvest season.
15:30 P.M.
Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam in the 10th-century; here, you will visit the temple of King Dinh. A local guide will teach you about Vietnamese history, and the enduring importance of Hoa Lu.
16:30 P.M.
Time to leave Ninh Binh. To get you back to Hanoi as promptly as possible, you’ll be driving straight back to the city.
18:30 P.M.
Once back in Hanoi, it’s time to return you to your individual hotel or private address, officially ending your tour.
