Begin the day in Chinatown, where you will soak in the atmosphere on foot and then explore the busy Binh Tay Market. Markets are a great way to learn about local food and culture, and this one is especially lively. Before leaving Chinatown, you’ll stop by the Thien Hau Temple which has a traditional Chinese Buddhist style.
Your next stop is the War Remnants Museum which is a must-see for anyone traveling in Vietnam. Providing a detailed and often harrowing account of the atrocities of war, this will give you essential insight into the country’s history.
After a delicious Saigon-style beef noodle soup, you’ll move on to the heart of the city where you will explore the Reunification Palace, the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office and City Hall. The latter three buildings are impressive examples of the French colonial style that forever changed the architecture of Vietnam.
