Love coffee but don’t know much about it? This tour will solve that. The tour takes place at Finca Filadelfia, a coffee plantation near Antigua that dates back to 1866. These days, the farm is planted with a harmonious mix of coffee plants and olive trees. Finca Filadelfia works hard to minimize their environmental impact by using drip irrigation systems and efficient technology.
During this tour, you’ll meet with a professional taster at Finca Filadelfia. This taster continuously monitors the quality of the coffee prior to its roasting and export. As you engage with this tour, you’ll learn about the intricacies involved in coffee production.
As a tour participant, you’ll discover how coffee is classified, roasted, and prepared. You’ll learn about key characteristics of coffee, including fragrance, aroma, flavor, acidity, and aftertaste. Potential defects will also be covered. This tour ends with a cup of Filadelfia’s finest coffee. Each participant will also receive a certificate of participation at the completion of the tour.
