Phu Bai International Airport

Phu Bai International Airport (IATA: HUI) is about 30 minutes to the east of Hue. It’s two hours from here to Da Nang, the closest major city. Travelers come here to see the rural beauty and caves of Vietnam’s central coast.

Phu Bai International Airport is one of Vietnam’s major airports – travelers to central Vietnam choose between here and the Da Nang Airport. Over a million travelers arrive here every year. Vietnam is investing in its airports, and Phu Bai Airport is scheduled for a revamp, as the number of international travelers to central Vietnam is expected to grow.

This airport was originally built as an airforce base in the 1940s, but has served as a civilian airport since 1975. The airport last had an upgrade in 2013. While you wait for your flight, you can grab a bite in the food court and browse the souvenir shops.
