Auto Safari Chapin Tour
This safari started as a way to protect Guatemala’s native endangered species. It has expanded to include a wide variety of species from Africa and other continents. Most of the animals here live in wide-open spaces, free from enclosures. Plants like orchids and butterfly trees make it a beautiful space for the animals to inhabit.

On this auto safari, you’ll have the rare opportunity to see animals like giraffes and leopards up close. You can see the animals as you would see them in their natural habitat – running, lounging, eating – from the comfort and safety of a vehicle driven by a knowledgeable guide. By living on the safari grounds, water buffalos and ostriches get to enjoy a level of safety that they would never have in the wild. Keep an eye out for some the smallest mammals at the reserve—they may not be as exotic as the other animals, but the playful pygmy goats have a special place in visitors' hearts.
After you tour the grounds in a car, you’ll get to take a short boat ride around the safari lake. This body of water is home to white pelicans, iguanas, and several other species of reptile. Spider monkeys often lounge in the nearby trees.
