Casa Capuchinas

La Antigua lies 28 miles (45 km) from Guatemala City. The surrounding landscape is spectacular and includes three picturesque volcanoes—the forests that blanket the volcanoes provide awesome terrain for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Within the city, travelers can enjoy cultural attractions like 17th-century churches and impressive museums. There are also a solid variety of restaurants and shops here.

Casa Capuchinas is a small and tranquil hotel in Antigua. Originally a colonial home, Casa Capuchinas has red-tiled roofs and a bright blue exterior. The hotel has just eight rooms and thus offers guests an intimate experience in Antigua. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and museums.

The hotel’s central courtyard has a nicely manicured lawn and flowering tropical plants. There are tables with shade umbrellas, as well as lounge chairs that are perfect for sunbathing. The courtyard is a nice place to read the morning paper or enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.

The rooms at Casa Capuchinas are spacious and charming. Each room is unique and furnished with eclectic antique furniture. All rooms feature a private hot water bathroom and a cable TV. Toiletries, bottles of water, and coffee are provided as well. The rooms have big, colonial-style windows that look out towards the garden, as well as wood burning fireplaces. Some rooms also have a balcony.

Breakfast is offered daily from 7:00 until 10:00 AM. Lunch and dinner are not provided, but there are a number of hot and cold drinks that can be ordered throughout the day. Room service is also available from 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
