Las Americas Guatemala City

The La Aurora International Airport is the largest airport in Guatemala and is the airport that travelers are most likely to use to enter or leave the country. Although Guatemala City certainly isn’t the top destination in Guatemala, it does have some appealing features. For example, you can enjoy good restaurants, bars and shops in Zona Viva or tour museums and historic sites in Centro Histórico. The charming town of La Antigua is also a short drive away.

Las Americas, a remodeled 183-room hotel, is very close to the airport—the location is absolutely unbeatable if you’re going to be flying. This hotel features comfortable rooms (for example, the beds have a choice of seven different pillows) and a nice range of high-quality amenities.

The rooms at Las Americas are modern and decorated with simplicity. The beds are super comfy and have nice mattresses and high-quality pillows. All rooms have a cable TV, wireless Internet access, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and an iron/ironing board. The private bathrooms have hot water showers, a bathtub, and hairdryer.

The seventh floor of the hotel is a designated “Quiet Zone,” which means that TVs can only reach a certain volume. All rooms on this floor are also equipped with a relaxation kit, which includes a range of aromatherapy products. The ninth floor of the hotel is composed entirely of executive suites.

There is a complimentary breakfast buffet offered to guests each morning. This includes omelets, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, platanos, black beans, tamales, bread, coffee, and several kinds of juice.

Located on the ground floor, the Los Volcanes restaurant serves a variety of local and international food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has buffet and à la carte options, and is proud to serve over 25 different types of salads. A piano player sometimes accompanies dinner.

The hotel’s sports bar offers a nice selection of snacks and drinks. With tasty cocktails and twelve TVs, this is a great place to relax after a hard day of work or travel. The bar is also set with several video poker and slot machines, should you want to try your luck at gambling.

To reach higher floors at Las Americas Hotel, you’ll take a swanky glass elevator that offers excellent views of Guatemala City. Take this to the top floor and you’ll find the hotel’s fitness center, which overlooks the city. The fitness room has nice equipment and is a good place to work up a sweat. You can cool off afterwards in the outdoor swimming pool or go for a soak in the whirlpool tub. There’s also a spa should you really want to indulge.
