With its colonial-style buildings and beautiful natural setting, Antigua is lovely. It’s a quaint town that has a fair share of history—Antigua was once the capital of Guatemala, and today many of its old buildings remain as churches, museums, and hotels. It’s a fun place to cruise around on foot and see the sights. Sit in the Central Park to experience the local culture or try out one of the town’s many delicious restaurants. If you feel like stretching your legs, you can go hiking at the Agua Volcano or mountain biking in the surrounding area.
Quinta de Las Flores is a quiet and relaxing hotel. It’s set outside the hustle and bustle of Antigua, but is still within short walking distance from the center of town. This hotel is small and known for its cozy rooms and beautiful grounds. It also enjoys dramatic views of the Agua Volcano and has a very peaceful atmosphere.
There are several different kinds of rooms to choose from, including some that function as larger apartments. All accommodations are spacious, clean and comfortable. They have beautiful bathrooms and showers with hot water and strong pressure. The windows can open to let in fresh air and natural light. All rooms have cable TV and wireless Internet.
Many rooms have wood burning fireplaces and some have an attractive patio area overlooking the hotel’s garden. There are five two-story casitas as well—each of these has two bedrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen. They sleep five people and are perfect for families or groups.
The hotel’s open-air restaurant serves delicious homemade meals. The food is fresh and served in large portions; the breakfasts are traditional and especially tasty. Room service is available.
The hotel’s grounds are gorgeous. Gravel paths wind amidst blooming tropical flowers, cobblestone courtyards, and colonial fountains. There is a swimming pool where guests can cool off and relax, as well as a playground for young children. Laying in a hammock near the pool is incredibly pleasant.
There is a small souvenir shop where guests can purchase gifts for friends and family back home. The staff at Quinta de Las Flores is extremely friendly and helpful.
