IncludedThis tour offers you an interesting looks at some of the historical and cultural underpinnings of Antigua. Start your tour with a peek behind the curtain of local transportation with a visit to one of the factories that makes chicken buses — local worker Don Augusto will show you around the factory and give you some insight into the artistry that gives these vehicles their vibrant personalities.
Next, the tour continues to the historical buildings in Ciudad Vieja, the 16th-century Spanish capital. Its status as the capital city didn’t last long, and in 1541 a volcano eruption destroyed most of the building and forced the population to relocate. Walking tours always work up an appetite, and before the tour concludes, your guide will take you for a meal at the House of Doña Lucy Cabrera in the village of San Miguel Dueño. This is a hearty way to end your tour, and allows you to get a taste of homemade regional cuisine.
