Guests are treated to their own stone cottage while staying at this hotel. The cottages are decorated with attractive Guatemalan décor and feel homey. Hammocks and a private garden are found outside each cottage.

The hotel’s restaurant is one of the best in the area. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at set times, with meals that include Asian, European, Guatemalan, and American influences. The breads, sauces, and pastries are all homemade—even the coffee is grown, processed, and roasted by the couple that runs this hotel.

Across the road from the restaurant are the hotel’s lakefront gardens. In addition to some seriously lush plants, the gardens also include a solar-heated swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna. There is a dock that extends into the lake that is a good place to jump into the water or launch kayaks.

While not in the water you can lounge on the sundeck or in a hammock, all while enjoying selections from the hotel’s lakefront full bar and menu service. Other activities here include relaxing with a deep-tissue massage or getting your heart pumping with some exercise at the hotel gym.
