This all day, all inclusive outing will introduce you to the best Arenal has to offer and includes Safari float, La Fortuna Waterfall, guided hike at Arenal National Park, and a trip to Choyin Thermal River
Safari Float Relax and immerse yourself in a tropical paradise on a serene safari float along the Penas Blancas River. As you paddle gently down the calm waters, your guide will highlight the rich array of wildlife inhabiting this lush ecosystem. Keep an eye out for spider and howler monkeys, sloths, lizards, and a variety of colorful tropical birds. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a crocodile. This tour is perfect for nature enthusiasts of all types, offering a peaceful and informative way to experience the beauty of the rainforest.
La Fortuna Waterfall This destination is a must-see when visiting Arenal. The combination of lush vegetation, crystal-clear water, and the stunning 229-foot (65-meter) waterfall creates a truly breathtaking scene. Be sure to bring your swimsuit, as this is a fantastic opportunity to swim in refreshing natural waters.
To reach the pool beneath the falls, you'll descend a trail with 498 steps. The climb back up typically takes between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your fitness level. It’s a rewarding experience well worth the effort, offering both natural beauty and a refreshing swim.
Volcano Hike Doing a hike should definitely be on your must-do list while in the area. Known for its iconic cone shape, Arenal Volcano has been an active volcano for decades, though it is currently in a resting phase with only occasional smoke visible from its peak. This makes it an excellent time to explore the park and learn about its history from a knowledgeable local guide.
A walk around the base of the volcano offers stunning views and the chance to see ancient lava flows up close. The tour is family-friendly and suitable for visitors of all ages, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone.
Choyin Thermal River Winding through the heart of the Costa Rican rainforest is a truly unique thermal river. Each minute, 25,000 gallons of mineralized water flow through this extraordinary riverbed, nestled within a vibrant jungle. The waters, consistently over 100°F, originate from geological veins within the magmatic bedrock of Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the Americas. This river, concealed from outsiders for generations, offers an unparalleled experience of natural wonder.
Local legends speak of ancient spirits safeguarding this mystical river, and stories abound about the volcano's fiery power that invigorates the surrounding forest. For as long as anyone can remember, local villagers have visited this enchanting place to enjoy the river’s warm waters, reconnect with nature, and bond with loved ones. Regular visitors know every bend and warm cove, finding solace and relief in the river's restorative properties.
Although this hidden gem was once a well-kept secret, its allure has recently attracted explorers from around the world. Drawn by tales of its beauty and healing powers, adventurers now come seeking the magic of these hot springs.
The nearby township of La Fortuna, which means "the fortune," reflects the river's legacy of wonder. As the sun sets over the dense jungle canopy, a profound sense of peace and harmony envelops the area, affirming the river's mystical reputation.
Committed to sustainability and respect for nature, we have constructed simple structures that blend seamlessly with the rainforest. These additions provide a safe and comfortable way for eco-conscious visitors to experience the river's beauty while honoring its magic. Our minimal intervention ensures that we continue to respect and preserve the volcanic land's power.
