Nepenthe Bed and Breakfast

Nepenthe Bed and Breakfast is located just 30 minutes from the town of La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano. From the pool you’ll have a sweeping view of Arenal Lake.

Visit Arenal Volcano National Park and take a nature walk with a guide to see the unusual flora and fauna that is native to this volcanic landscape. In the park you can also climb to the lake in the crater of Cerro Chato. While you’re near these volcanoes, visit some of the nearby spas that feature hot springs — Tabacón, Eco Termales, and Los Perdidos Hot Springs have naturally heated pools and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Swim in the hotel’s spring-fed pool and Jacuzzi. Near the Jacuzzi you can also visit the spa for an appointment with a professional masseuse. While you’re getting a massage you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

For dinner, make a reservation at the hotel’s Phoenix restaurant. While you’re there you can try steaks, homemade pastas, and Costa Rican dishes. You can also visit the rooftop bar for happy hour, and unwind with a cocktail. During your stay you can keep in touch with the rest of the world — the hotel provides free Wi-Fi.

There are three rooms in the main house. Each has a separate entrance so you can have complete privacy. Inside you’ll keep cool with a ceiling fan, and store drinks in the mini refrigerator. Make yourself a morning cup with the coffeemaker, and get some fresh air on the veranda while you relax in a rocking chair or a hammock.

Book one of the hotel’s four cabins if you’d like completely private accommodations and your own kitchenette. They have tile floors and cozy furniture. Cabins also come with private views, just a few steps from the main house.
A 4x4 car is necessary to drive to the hotel.
