Monte Real Hotel

Monte Real offers travelers the best of both worlds — it’s in the midst of the busy town of La Fortuna, but also offers a serene view of the Arenal Volcano, which you’ll get to learn more about on nature walks through the park and on boating tours of Arenal Lake. Check out the cafes that serve coffee made from locally harvested beans. There are also plenty of bars if you fancy a drink with the locals. When you’re ready to return to the hotel, consider heading to the pool that comes with a lovely view of the Arenal Volcano. The hotel is right next to a river and has its own patch of forest, making the grounds an inviting place for sloths, monkeys, and butterflies.

Rooms are pleasantly understated and quite clean, with tile floors and sturdy furniture, including a writing desk and a TV. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms, as well as throughout the property. Each of the rooms’ private bathrooms comes stocked with environmentally friendly products.
