The property around El Remanso can be explored through an extensive trail system. Guests can enjoy spotting the forest animals, visiting waterfalls and creeks, or walking on the beach with tide pools and a lagoon. The El Remanso guides can take you waterfall repelling, early morning bird watching, on nature hikes, or on a canopy tour. Or, just appreciate the exotic birds and monkeys from the deck of your private cabin.
There are many exciting outdoor adventures outside of the lodge property. Dolphin watching in the Golfo Dulce, horseback riding through the forest or on the beach, surfing at Matapalo, or hiking through Corcovado National Park are available for guests.
El Remanso is comprised of 13 units of cabins, suites, and rooms that can hold up to 30 guests. The small-scale of the lodge allows for specially tailored service to meet your desires. El Remanso offers a chemical free pool, the poolside bar Los Encantitos, and a restaurant. The restaurant cuisine mixes international food with a local touch in the three meals served every day on the open-air deck built on the top of a forest canyon. Early morning coffee, an exchange library, the mirador lounge area, and the weekly talks of conservation issues by local biologists are all part of El Remanso’s restaurant.
El Remanso is committed to protecting the environment and benefiting the local community. The lodge uses 100% renewable energies, minimal impact construction materials, no herbicides, pesticides, or dangerous chemicals, recycling and waste management, responsible water use, and biodegradable products. The El Remanso staff has joined with other landowners in the area to protect the biological corridors of Corcovado National Park. The 25 member staff are all locally born Costa Ricans.
Come visit El Remanso for your wedding, honeymoon, family getaway, or yoga retreat. The lodge has years of experience accommodating larger groups with special packages, multi-use facilities, and specialized service. Room rates include three daily meals.
This was the best location we have ever been to in Costa Rica and best hotel
Absolutely amazing experience. Everyone was so nice. It was great watching monkeys from our room, the different hikes, water rappelling and zip lining. We loved every minute of our experience.
