Esquinas Rainforest Lodge
The Esquinas Rainforest lodge is located in the remote southern zone of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula. Experience raw beauty at its best in this pristine wilderness zone of primary and secondary rainforest and endless stretches of deserted beaches. The lodge rests on Piedra Blancas National Park, an extension of the Corcovado National Park, and borders the Golfito Forest Reserve. The Esquinas Rainforest Lodge, nestled in the lush, thick forest makes it the perfect jungle retreat for the eco-traveler. There are 9 miles (15 km) of marked trails that wind through the heart of the jungle, and it's possible to have a trained naturalist guide lead you along them. Although the hiking there is great, the area also lends itself to an array of other activities, including visiting the Casa Orquideas Botanical Garden, a boat trip through mangrove swamp areas, horseback riding, and dolphin watching.
After an extraordinary day of exploration relax in the open-air veranda at the main lodge, where you can enjoy a cocktail or dine in the restaurant, which uses fine exotic vegetables from the hotel's own garden and freshly caught fish from Golfo Dulce. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear, stream-fed pool or spend some quiet time in the tropical garden where you'll find vibrantly colored birds and butterflies, monkeys, iguanas and much more.
At the end of the day close your eyes and relax in your cozy cabin with a shaded veranda and bamboo rocking chair. The rooms all have tiled floors, ceiling fans, and private bathrooms with hot water showers. If you feel like relaxing and reading, then check out the large main building where you'll find a living room and library.
There's also a larger accommodation, called the Jungle Villa, that has two connecting bedrooms, two bathrooms, and can sleep up to four guests. Each room has a private covered veranda set with rocking chairs that offers wonderful views of the jungle. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, and hammocks.

Waterfall Package: includes 3 nights, 3 meals per day, a guided hike in the Piedras Blancas National Park, and a guided horseback or mountain bike tour. Children are not allowed to reserve this package.
