This is also a convenient place for a surf lesson, or, if you’re an experienced surfer, a trip to Witch’s Rock, one of Costa Rica’s premier surfing destinations. Just a bit farther north of Tamarindo you can visit Marino Las Baulas National Park, which has a white sand beach called Playa Grande where sea turtles come ashore to nest from October thru May.

It’s half a mile from the eco resort to the beach. On the grounds you can find a small pool with a Jacuzzi as well as trails for hiking and mountain biking. Grab a convenient meal at the on-site restaurant. Guests can rest assured that the reserve is all private property with 24/7 security.
