Horseback Riding Tour
Costa Ricans sometime refer to horses as the ultimate all-terrain vehicle. In many ways, this is true—you can forge across streams, trot through forests, and summit mountains on horseback. During this tour, you’ll get a taste of the Costa Rican countryside on these all-natural all-terrain vehicles.

The owners of Hacienda Pozo Azul have trained and bred horses for years. They have a deep knowledge of horses and use this to craft incredible rides for people of all ages and abilities.
The tour begins at the stalls, where you are given the necessary equipment—a helmet, leggings, and rain poncho. You’ll be assigned a horse that matches your experience and ability, and you'll learn the basics of horse handling and safety. When you’re ready, you’ll mount the horse and practice handling it in the coral.
Now you’re ready for the real adventure—head out with your horse onto trails that run through pastureland, jungle, and rivers. You’ll have a unique opportunity to see some of Costa Rica’s beautiful countryside and may even spot birds and other wildlife. Along the way, you’ll be given fresh fruit and water.
A bilingual guide and wrangler accompany every ride. This ensures that your tour will not only be informative but also safe. There are both 2-hour and 4-hour tours available.
