Alajuela lies in and around the valley and is similar to San Jose, though on a smaller scale. Downtown Alajuela features a wonderful central park and impressive red dome church.

When you arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport, you have to take one of the Official Cabs (orange color ones), they are available 24 hours / 7 days a week. Once you arrive at the Hotel, the front desk will pay the taxi fare to the driver.
The free shuttle next day is available 24 hours and departs every half hour to Juan Santamaria International Airport.
