AvailableThis 4-in-1 combo offers a varied day of experiences in the Arenal region, combining rainforest trails, a waterfall visit, wildlife observation, and a hands-on introduction to Costa Rican chocolate. It is a convenient way to experience several of the area's highlights in one excursion.
Hanging Bridges
Explore the rainforest along a 3-kilometer trail that combines forest paths with hanging bridges. Walking at ground level offers opportunities to observe the vegetation and wildlife of the forest, while the suspension bridges provide a different perspective from above the canopy. Throughout the walk, a knowledgeable guide shares information about the plants, animals, and ecosystems found in the Arenal region, helping you better understand the rainforest as you explore it.
La Fortuna Waterfall
Visit one of the most well-known natural attractions in the Arenal area: La Fortuna Waterfall. Surrounded by tropical vegetation, the 65-meter (229-foot) waterfall flows into a natural pool where visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim when conditions permit. Bring your swimsuit if you would like to take a dip.
Reaching the waterfall requires descending approximately 498 steps. The return journey is uphill and generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on your pace. Comfortable footwear and sufficient water are recommended for this portion of the tour.
Safari Float
Enjoy a peaceful float along the Penas Blancas River while observing the wildlife and vegetation along its banks. The calm waters make this a relaxing way to explore the tropical landscape, while your guide points out animals and explains the surrounding ecosystem.
Depending on the conditions and your guide's observations, you may see howler and spider monkeys, sloths, lizards, and a variety of tropical birds. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, but the slow pace of the float provides plenty of opportunities to look for animals in their natural environment.
Chocolate Tour
Discover the traditional process of turning cacao into chocolate during a visit to Eden Chocolate Tour, located in the Arenal region. The experience introduces you to the cacao plant, its cultivation, and the different stages involved in producing chocolate.
The tour also includes a chocolate tasting, allowing you to sample different preparations and learn how variations in ingredients and processing can influence flavor. You may also have the opportunity to try chocolate tea, a traditional cacao-based beverage. Throughout the experience, your guide shares information about cacao's history, cultural importance, and role in Costa Rican agriculture.
