Boasting an intimate experience with primary rainforest, the Finca Luna Nueva is a living classroom where medicinal plants are cultivated and people convene with nature. Developed for progressive farmers and scientists alike, the farm honors its own local farmers for continually challenging themselves to expand their extensive permaculture techniques and the Sacred Seed Sanctuary. This sanctuary is a dynamic collection of roughly 300 medicinal plants that protects and celebrates not only the biological diversity of Costa Rica but also the cultural histories of these plants.
For those interested in the organic and sustainably movement, this is an excellent opportunity to interact with a living farm, meet like-minded people, and explore the Arenal Volcano region. All of the farms accommodations and conference center were constructed with materials milled on-site and finely crafted by local builders. After a day exploring the well-maintained rainforest trails or attending a guided farm tour, visit the restaurant for a gourmet meal prepared with organic ingredients.
With a bounty of local produce and livestock, menus are set based on harvest schedule and locally available goods. Afterward, enjoy an afternoon of yoga, a rejuvenating trip to the spa or a relaxing evening in the solar heated Jacuzzi. Whether its a personal retreat or large group, Luna Nueva and its caring staff can facilitate specialized retreats, business events, training classes, and holistic workshops.
For adventure activity enthusiasts, La Fortuna, the adventure capital of Costa Rica and home to the Arenal Volcano, is located only 35 minutes away. Here guests can choose between relaxing in the hot springs, rafting a local river, or hiking through a rainforest reserve in search of exotic wildlife.
Wonderful place, wonderful people, wonderful on site experiences, love their ecological and organic commitment.
Lots of birds, good hiking, and animals to observe right on the property (e.g. a sloth mother and baby in the tree outside our room). Delicious healthy food mostly produced at the Finca Luna Nueva farm. The bungalow was just right. Friendly and caring staff. Very interesting guided tour of the property with information about how they are testing and developing sustainable future for this type of environment. Excellent experience - one of the best.
This place was paradise. Couldn't have dreamed of a better place to stay.
