The Las Colinas Arenal Hotel offers a high quality of service and cleanliness at a budget hotel price. Don’t expect a five-star luxury hotel, but the convenience of its location and its dedication to maintaining an eco-friendly environment make Las Colinas a great choice. Though the rooms are not excessively spacious, they offer a cozy sense of comfort and feature Costa Rican style decor. Flor and Ivette, the managers of the family business, are excessively friendly and well rehearsed on the local tour attractions and cultural events. Be sure to head to the top-deck terrace to enjoy views of the brilliant green hills and stunning Arenal Volcano.
From the front steps of Las Colinas, visitors can easily walk and explore the quaint town of La Fortuna. A tasty selection of restaurants, bars, and shops are just minutes away. Outside of town, the lush rainforest gives way to the volcanic gray flanks of the Arenal Volcano, the attraction that has made Arenal a cornerstone destination for many travelers. After a morning hike to view the colorful rainforest birds and flowers, head to a thermal pool to relax and nurse sore legs. Other attractions include spelunking in the Venado Caves, horseback riding to the 230 feet (70 m) La Fortuna waterfall, river rafting, and a day-trip to Lake Arenal to relax, fish, or canoe.

We enjoyed being in the heart of La Fortuna. The hotel was open air, eco friendly and has a good history. It was nice being able to walk to the park, shopping, cafes, market. A hidden gem.
