Hacienda Baru Rainforest Birdwatching Tour

This tour begins just after daybreak, when birds are the most active—Hacienda Barú is home to around 300 species of birds. This scenic tour includes a stop for a picnic breakfast.

Along the hike, you’ll look for species like trogons, motmots, antshrikes, manakins, tinamous, curasows. You’ll journey past old cacao plantations. After you hike for a couple hours, you’ll arrive at the campsite where your guide will prepare a traditional Costa Rican breakfast. This campsite is a nice place to relax and listen for interesting bird calls. Next, you’ll hike through primary forest, a type of forest that has completely undisturbed growth.
