Local Flavor Tour

Learn how to recreate Costa Rican dishes in your own kitchen. What you cook will depend on the season, but you can expect to make a nice spread of Costa Rican classics.

This tour will introduce you to old-fashioned cooking techniques. You’ll watch as seasoned cooks prepare tortillas by hand, and then you’ll have the chance to try out the techniques yourself. Also on the menu are picadillos — small, heavily spiced dishes — as well as ceviche and chicken in tomato sauce. At the end of your cooking class, you’ll get to have one of the best meals of your trip.

Take this tour to experience a cozy part of Costa Rican culture. You have 5.5 hours at the ranch, so you’ll have time to explore the ranch on your own. Take a stroll down to the Naranjo River — the waters here are pleasant and perfect for an afternoon swim.

Note: Vegetarian options are available.
