On this hike you’ll be on a trail that travels through “primary” forest, a term that means this forest has many layers of uninterrupted growth. This is part of what makes Manuel Antonio such an ecologically diverse place. Once you get to the top you will reach the suspension bridges that make up the Canopy tour. You will have an amazing ocean view and be able to see the tops of trees up close. This way of experiencing the forrest decreases the impact of visitors on the environment while allowing a bird's eye view.
You can customize your hike to your interests. Your group can also decide the pace of the hike. If you’re there mainly for the exotic bird watching, your guide will help you look for trogons, motmots, and pygmy owls (among many others). Besides tropical birds, other species to look out for include silky anteaters and squirrel monkeys. Or if you prefer, focus your hike on the rainforest flora, and learn more about how the surrounding trees provide for the local wildlife.
This hike includes a stop at Manuel Antonio’s natural pools and waterfalls. It has cool water and is a lovely place to pause and go for a swim or snap the perfect picture. At the end of the tour you will be treated to a spectacular lunch.

Traveler Comments
This was the first tour we took during our stay this time. It did not disappoint! One of our group members had a difficult time with the amount of hiking due to the humidity but the staff took her on a short cut to the waterfall and that made it doable for her. The scenery was just beautiful and the guide was very knowledgeable. Our 16 year old thoroughly enjoyed the waterfall swim too. Great tour!
This was the best tour of all! I highly recommend it. It was quiet, small, and we saw a lot of wildlife. The meal at the end was fantastic.
Tour guide was great but a lot of stairs. Scenery was beautiful.
