American Quakers settled in Monteverde, and while you’re here you can try some of their homemade cheese. You can walk into town to try some of the local restaurants and cafes. There’s also an orchid garden and butterfly garden where you can get a good look at some of the area’s native species. The Santa Elena Cloud Reserve and the Monteverde Cloud Reserve are incredible environments where you can see lichens, orchids, and see howler monkeys. You’ll see and hear many types of rare birds, including the elusive quetzal.
Mountain Faro Hotel offers 5 bedrooms. The rooms have tile floors and pristine interiors. Guests can access the Wi-Fi from their rooms, and watch the cable TV. Use the safety deposit box to store your valuables, and keep your drinks in the mini-refrigerator. There’s also a coffee maker provided for guests, and the private bathroom has hot water.
Breakfast is included in your stay, and there is a kitchenette that guests can use. The hotel also offers a laundry service.
Very clean budget stay. Staff was very kind and helpful. Room was right off the road which wasn’t ideal but it helped us do lots of tours in the area.
Our host Lady keeps the place exceptionally clean. A simple no frills b&b but the rooms and bathrooms were nice. Good location.
