This one day excursion begins with an early morning pick up from your San Jose hotel. We will depart and shortly after stop for a lovely typical breakfast and then continue on to Tres Equis where we may have to switch to a 4x4 (depending on road conditions) which will take us down to the "put in' spot on the river.
Before our river departure your knowledgeable bilingual guide will be sure to explain all safety instructions. We will then proceed down this picturesque river and have lunch on a riverbank, where you can take in the warm tropical sun and just relax before heading out for the last stretch of the trip. The total river time is around five hours with a "take out' time around mid afternoon. Awaiting you at the take out point will be your shuttle back to San Jose.
Important: Note that the minimum age to parcipate in this tour is 14 years old. No pregnant women are allowed on this tour.
The Pacuare River, whose headwaters begin on the Atlantic slope in the Talamanca mountain range, runs about 68 miles (108 km) until reaching the Caribbean Sea on Costa Rica's central coast. This is the quintessential tropical river, with stunning scenery and abounding wildlife.

We absolutely loved this tour especially our guide Carlos. He was so fun and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.
It was great experience from pickup, breakfast, rafting, lunch and drop off. Driving from and to to hotel was smooth. Great arrangement of food for both breakfast and lunch. Great experience for white water rafting.
Same as with the trip to San Jose, amazing staff and caring, professional, punctual definitely recommend.

One of the best ways to experience Costa Rica is on a white water rafting trip—you see places, animals, and scenery that are often otherwise missed. There are several options for this rafting excursion on the Sarapiquí River, including Class II and III tours, Class IV tours, and a safari float.
The Pejibaye River is a tributary of the Reventazon River, in the Turrialba Valley, just two hours from San Jose. This is a great introductory river as it only has class I and II rapids, making it a perfect starter for first time rafters and children .
