This tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in San Jose at around 8:00 AM. Your tour bus takes a scenic route through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, which is surrounded by waterfalls and rainforest. As you drive, your guide (and rafting instructor) will offer some interesting information of the ecology of this rare environment.
On the river, you’ll learn a bit about the role it plays in Costa Rica’s energy supply. It’s one of the longest rivers in Costa Rica, and its rushing waters provide a sustainable source of power. After an exhilarating day on the river, you’ll unwind with a hot lunch at the Rio Tropicales Operations Center, and a chance to freshen up with a hot shower. You’re also welcome to stop for a drink and a bar and browse the souvenir shop before heading back to San José.
Important: This tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
