The tour begins with an orientation and drive through Sabana Park. This is Costa Rica’s largest metropolitan park and an important green space for the citizens of San José.
After driving through the park, you’ll take a walking tour of the National Theater. Located within the city’s center, this theater opened in 1897 and continues to have several performances each week. It’s one of the most historic and lavish buildings in all of San José.
Following the tour of the National Theater, you’ll head to the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum. The museum has a large collection of pre-Columbian gold artifacts, as well as Costa Rica’s first coin, which was minted in 1825.
The tour continues with stops at the University of Costa Rica and the Supreme Court. A visit will also be made to a local art store where you can purchase souvenirs.
