Hotel Casa Turire is situated in the central valley of Costa Rica, just two hours from San Jose. In the heart of the verdant Turrialba agricultural region, this beautiful estate is surrounded by the wild Reventazon River, with the imposing presence of the Turrialba Mountains forming a dramatic backdrop. A delicate balance has been maintained between agricultural development and ecological preservation so visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty and diversity of flora and fauna.
Visit a sugar cane mill, a coffee farm, or the processing plant for the flavorful macadamia nut. One of the principal attractions of the area is a thrilling ride in a river raft or a kayak. There are also horseback riding tours, pre Colombian ruins and canyoning excursions.
Casa Turire landscaped gardens abound with tropical plants, flowers and trees, creating a divine setting. The hotel has a relaxed ambience, with a wood-toned bar, leather clad library and game parlor and the linen-draped wicker dining room. Stroll through the fruit orchards and surrounding forest trails or swim in the refreshing spring-fed pool before a gourmet meal in the family-size restaurant. Guests can also enjoy the game room, pool table and the tennis court.
You will fall asleep to natures lullaby in your elegant room, and awaken to the song of exotic birds in the crisp morning air. Designed so that the accommodations blend in with the tranquil environment, all rooms in the great house feature balconies. Casa Turire offers twelve deluxe rooms and four suites. The Master Suite comes complete with two floors and a lovely Jacuzzi.

Feedback from Travelers
A charming place for a few days of relaxation and light exploring. It's a bit off the beaten track -- none of the major tourist sites within easy distance, but the hotel can connect you with a local guide. The room décor is perhaps a bit worn, but the ambience of the whole facility is clean, comfortable and very relaxed. Staff are friendly and responsive but do not hover. We felt like guests in the expansive home of an old friend—free to wander as we pleased. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Produce appears to be entirely from gardens on the grounds, meat from local sources and coffee local, of course. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dinner menu. It had enough interesting variety that we could have happily eaten dinner for a week without repeating an entrée. It was very good. We would definitely return.
Lovely! Very comfortable rooms (Standard is a lot more than standard), beautiful public areas, excellent restaurant, spacious well-tended grounds. Ask for a room to the front of the hotel and away from the lake if you want extra quiet. In the back there is the pool and the terrace where, for example, breakfast is served and there is a very loud generator at the corner facing the lake. (Directly above it is one of the suites.)
