Besides the many hiking trails, there are also a few lakes where you can take boating and canoeing tours. Laguna del Lagarto emphasizes sustainability, which is especially important in this part of the world — one of the few remaining habitats for the green macaw.
The restaurant has a buffet that serves traditional, homestyle cooking. Food here is made with local ingredients, including an abundat selection of tropical fruit. You can expect to have a piping hot cup of coffee with breakfast. You can also sip on fresh fruit juice – maybe mixed into a tropical cocktail. Birdwatching doesn't have to pause during your meals – feeders on the balcony attract an interesting variety of birds that you can observe from the dining room.
Rooms come with fans – not air conditioning, although it typically cools off in the evening. You can request an upscale room that comes with a balcony with hammocks. Each room has a private bathroom. There is some Wi-Fi availability on the grounds, although it is not super fast in this part of the world.
