On the hotel’s main building’s two decks you’ll have stunning views of the San Carlos River. This is a great place to do some bird watching — Boca Tapada is one of the few places in the world that still serves as a habitat for the great green macaw and other rare birds. You can arrange for kayaking tours of the San Carlos River, and horseback riding is a popular way to see the trails through the rainforest. There is a lagoon on the grounds of the hotel that makes a nice destination for an early morning stroll.

The guest bungalows are scattered throughout the rainforest grounds, which are lush with fruit trees. There are 14 bungalows on the grounds of Podecito del Cielo. Each comes with a queen bed and a single bed, and a private bathroom. Guests will also have their own terraces. Rooms stay cool under the gentle whir of the ceiling fans.

Pedacito del Cielo’s kitchen serves food made with local produce. On the menu, you’ll find Costa Rican and international classics. Meals are prepared tableside for an added bit of entertainment.
