Ciudad Perdida Ecolodge is located in the town of Cahuita, along Costa Rica's southern Caribbean coast. This town serves as the gateway to Cahuita National Park, which protects rainforest, white sand beaches, and an intact coral reef.
Visitors to the area should plan tours to Cahuita National Park to experience some of the area’s best snorkeling and beach lounging. Lots of visitors also take the opportunity to go rafting on the scenic Pacuare River, which home to class III and class IV rapids, which you can explore on a day trip or a multi-day adventure. Animal lovers should make sure to check out the Sloth Sanctuary, which is a beautiful place to visit with one of the rainforest’s most approachable mammals.
Ciudad Perdida means “lost city” in English, and grounds of the lodge make you feel like you’re in an enchanted village. Each of the bungalows and vacation houses are surrounded by lush vegetation, including the lodge’s own gardens. Sample some of the dining room’s fresh preparations with the breakfast that’s included with double occupancy.
The lodge offers Victorian-style accommodations, an aesthetic that reflects the area’s colonial history. Every bungalow and house comes with conveniences like a coffee maker, as well as air conditioning and safety deposit boxes. All of the accommodations come with terraces and hammocks, so you have plenty of space to truly unwind and make the most of the tropical setting.
Besides beach bungalows, visitors can also book entire beach houses, which come complete with kitchenettes and dining areas. If you want more of a luxurious experience, make sure to book the bungalow that also has a Jacuzzi.
