Tree Top Climbing Night Tour

Rediscover the wonder of the forest with wide-eyed, youthful curiosity when you go on this incredible tree climbing expedition — at night! Led by an expert bilingual guide, you'll observe Costa Rica's reclusive nocturnal creatures after the sun sets.

The adventure begins when you're picked up from your accommodations at 17:00 p.m. From there, you'll make your way to Monteverde, Costa Rica's Finca Modelo Ecológica. An establishment owned by the Brenes Family since 1951, and a prime example of the emerald forests and outdoor adventure you can expect to enjoy during your time in Monteverde.

At 17:30 p.m., your tour officially begins. You'll enjoy a 10 minute walk and have the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful sunset before your mission begins. Then, it's time for the exciting task of climbing a hollow ficus which is lit up on the inside. Don't stop 'til you reach the top — a canopy platform. If it's still twilight, you'll be able to enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view, in addition to the satisfication of having made it all the way up.

Your bilingual naturalist trail guide will lead you through the park and help you identify the mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and insects who call the forest home. You will learn why these particular species are suited for their nocturnal lives, and will have the opportunity to ask questions. The waterproof flashlight you are given will also help you spy creatures in your own time.
