This tour of the Papagayo Gulf will take you along the coast of Costa Rica’s Guanacaste region. Guanacaste is a tropical region with abundant fish near its coast. You can book this tour as either a half-day or a full-day tour.

You have the chance to catch mahi-mahi, black tuna, mackerel, marlin, and roosterfish. Your tour will include a boat captain and a naturalist guide. Along the way, you may also get a chance to do some whale and dolphin watching. If you take this tour between July and November, there's also a possibility of spotting humpback whales.

When you’re done with fishing you’ll have a picnic-style lunch on the beach. Guanacaste is known for its sunny, white sand beaches. If you took the half-day tour, you’ll have a light lunch with cold cuts, fruits, and snacks. The full-day tour comes with barbecue and lots of fixings. After lunch, you can go swimming and snorkeling, and use the stand-up paddleboards provided by the tour.

Depending on the size of your group, you'll take your tour on one of the three following boats:

Raccoon is the smallest of the boats, with a 25-foot (7.6 m) hull and a 200 horsepower engine. 5 passengers can comfortably fit on this boat, as well as fishing rods, surfboards, and the rest of the equipment. The seats are cushioned and the Racoon has a stereo system.

La Guapa has a 28-foot (8.5 m) hull and a 150 horsepower engine. It has cushioned bench seats and a stereo system. This boat can comfortably fit around 7 people.

La Charanga is also 28 feet (8.5 m) long, with a walk-around layout. There is a shaded area on the deck and a tower with a shaded seat for passengers that want to get a better look at the scenery. La Charanga also has a ladder to make it easy to get in and out of the water. You can listen to music on the stereo system, and rinse off using the onboard fresh water shower. This boat is ideal for a trip with up to 8 people.
