La Ponderosa

On the grounds of the resort you have the chance to see monkeys, macaws, parrots, and iguanas. La Ponderosa Resort sits next to a beach that caters to surfers. This beach offers notoriously long waves, and the resort provides surfing gear for guests. When you’re ready to try some larger waves, the nearby Punta Banco beach has what you’re after, just 2.5 miles (4.2 km) south of the resort. Travel just 2 miles (3.2 km) up the coast to the small beach town of Pavones, It has a few restaurants to try, and ATV rental shops that offer a fun way to explore the area.

La Ponderosa offers accommodations in private rooms. The rooms are individually furnished and all of them have the same amenities, air conditioning, satellite TV, mini-fridge, safe deposit box and hot water shower. All of Ponderosa’s guests have access to the resort’s communal game room and convenient laundry services.

In the game room you can take in the view from the comfortable sitting area or entertain yourself with the ping-pong and foosball tables. There are also board games and a book-trading library. Outside there are also volleyball and basketball courts. You can access the Wi-Fi from the lobby, the game room, or the patio next to the resort’s pool.

La Ponderosa’s dining room can accommodate your dietary needs. The resort offers a good variety of home-cooked meals, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. They offer three meals a day, so you don’t have to do any meal planning if you’d rather focus on the waves.
